This guide features 12 tiki bar classics that will transport you to your own tropical paradise. Each recipe is taken from the source that helped make it famous. Take the Mai Tai, a drink made famous by Trader Vic's. It was at Trader Vic's where the Mai Tai received it's name. Vic was mixing up a new drink for some friends who were visiting from Tahiti. While taking the first sip, one of his friends said, "mai tai" which roughly translates to "awesome" in Tahitian. Who wouldn't want a drink named awesome?!
So put on your best Hawaiian shirt, turn up the Don Ho, and get mixing!
Recipes and information taken from Trader Vic's Pacific Island Cookbook (1968) and Beachbum Berry's Potions of the Caribbean (2014)
