Shintaro Kago was born in Tokyo in 1969. He is a Japanese manga artist that has been working in the field since 1988. He describes himself as kisou mangaka (“bizarre manga artist”), and his work usually features strong satirical overtones as well as themes of grotesque, experimental, and the bizarre. He has published numerous comics and stories in his career, notable among them Super-Conductive Brains Parataxis published in the magazine Weekly Young Jump. In 2014 he also designed the cover for Flying Lotus's album You're Dead!, as well as producing illustrations for each of the songs.
